Full Biography
Ariani Nisma Putri (born December 31, 2005, in Bangkinang, Kampar, Riau, Indonesia), known professionally as Putri Ariani, is an extraordinary singer-songwriter and pianist who has captured hearts worldwide. Born prematurely, she was diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity in infancy, rendering her blind. Putri discovered music at an incredibly young age — she began playing piano by ear at just 4 years old and started singing at age 6.
Her remarkable talent first gained national recognition when she won Indonesia's Got Talent Season 2 in 2014. But it was her audition on America's Got Talent Season 18 in 2023 that launched her onto the global stage. Her original song "Loneliness" moved Simon Cowell to tears, and after she followed it with Elton John's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word," Cowell pressed the Golden Buzzer, declaring her "one of the best singers we have ever had on our show."
Putri went on to finish 4th place on AGT Season 18, performing U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" in the Qualifiers (U2 cleared the song specifically for her), and Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" in the Finals. Her journey continued to the United Nations General Assembly in December 2023, where she performed for world leaders in New York.
In January 2024, she collaborated with Norwegian DJ Alan Walker on the single "Who I Am," filmed in Norway's Andalsnes Mountains, which became her most-streamed track on Spotify. She has also performed duets with Ronan Keating and Peabo Bryson. In September 2024, she performed at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Her debut album "Evolve," featuring 15 tracks including the lead single "Crown," was released in November 2024. Putri writes and composes in both English and Indonesian, and her compositions reveal a musical maturity and emotional depth far beyond her years.
Putri currently studies at the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. Her story is one of extraordinary talent, unwavering determination, and the transformative power of music.
